We are very excited to announce the launch a competition for College of Arts students to create images of Lincoln and Lincolnshire that will be used in future University adverts to recruit new staff.
We are looking to feature imagery (in any media) created by our students in future University of Lincoln staff recruitment adverts (print and digital). The benefit of featuring student-created imagery in these ads will be that we differentiate the University from the rest of the higher education market; create more visual, noticeable adverts; and demonstrate how student work is at the heart of what we do at the University of Lincoln.
This competition is for students to create images of iconic, recognizable, positive & engaging Lincoln themes, such as:
The Red Arrows
The Magna Carta
Invention of the tank
Birthplace of Sir Isaac Newton
Birthplace of Lord Alfred Tennyson
The architect Sam Scorer
University’s partnership with Siemens
This is a great opportunity for the College of Arts students to work on a live brief, raise their profile and get their work published in National and International Publications (print and online).
If you wish to enter the competition, please submit an A3 printout of the image that you have created (you can enter more than once if you wish). If you are creating the image digitally, please ensure that it is created at 300dpi, 297 x 420mm, CMYK. Please do not mount any of the images and only paper entries will be accepted. Only submit the final image (we do not need to see support work, sketchbooks, development work etc).
Submit paper entries to Anna Martin in the College Office (AAD3W13) by 11am Monday 1st February 2016.
Entrants must ensure that their name, programme and level are clearly visible on their entry.
Please do not submit original artwork (ie. please scan it and print it).
The judging will take place during February 2016 and the judging panel intends to select more than one winner. The creators of the winning images will each receive a £200 prize and their work will be featured in future HR staff recruitment ads. Whenever an image is used the creator’s name and programme will be clearly featured in the ad.
As well as selecting winners, the judging panel will choose a broader selection of the images to feature in an exhibition of the best work submitted for the competition. Important note: By entering the competition all students are agreeing that the University of Lincoln can use the work for HR recruitment purposes. All intellectual property (copyright) of entries will be owned by the University of Lincoln.
